A fine art film print by Australian photographer Nigel Malone, exclusive to McMullin.
First Rodeo is a photographic study of the rodeo’s raw energy, tension and grit. Shot on film by Nigel Malone beneath the arena stalls, between the chutes and stock pens, the series moves beyond the spectacle into the quieter world of its competitors.
Dust, anticipation, stillness and adrenaline shape the work, capturing intimate moments of focus against the unforgiving intensity of the arena.
This film photograph has an intentionally soft, grainy finish. The subtle blur and movement are inherent to the analogue photographic process and form part of the artwork.
